SUCCESS STORY: How TRANSVER Delivered Hygienic Product Handling for Fresh Food & Beverage Group (Migros Industry)

When Fresh Food & Beverage Group (Migros Industry) set out to build one of Switzerland’s most advanced bakery production centers, they chose TRANSVER as their trusted partner — delivering hygienic, efficient, and future-proof product handling for over 80 fresh bakery products.

TRANSVER and Fresh Food & Beverage Group (Migros Industry) Raise the Bar in Hygienic Bakery Logistics

When the Fresh Food & Beverage Group (part of Migros Industry) decided to build a cutting-edge production hub for fresh bakery goods in Volketswil, Switzerland, one thing was clear: the new facility had to combine uncompromising hygiene, maximum efficiency, and ergonomic working conditions — all in a highly space-constrained environment.

Tasked with producing over 80 different products in varying batch sizes, the project team knew that hygienic product handling was critical not just for food safety, but also for operational performance. Every inaccessible corner in a conveying system is a potential risk — for both product quality and process efficiency.

That’s why Fresh Food & Beverage Group turned to TRANSVER for a customized solution designed specifically for the demands of modern bakery logistics.

The Challenge: Hygiene Meets High Throughput

The goal was to integrate two new production lines along with cooling and logistics areas into a compact space — while maintaining consistently high production rates and meeting strict hygiene standards at every step. To achieve this, the conveying technology had to minimize downtime for cleaning and enable fast, tool-free access to all critical components.

The Solution: Hygienic Design in Action

TRANSVER delivered a tailored hygienic conveying system that integrates cleaning as an essential feature, rather than an afterthought. The solution features:

  • Hygienic handling of all products throughout the entire transport process
  • Tool-free, quick cleaning of all critical components
  • Space-saving 45° belt routing for optimal use of space
  • Continuously adjustable, ergonomic working heights
  • Rugged construction for maximum uptime and reliability

The result: hygienic product handling that supports high throughput and minimizes downtime — without compromising on safety or efficiency.

Customer Perspective: “TRANSVER Didn’t Just Deliver — They Thought Ahead”

Andreas Kupper, Project Lead and Process Manager for Packaging Technology and Logistics at Fresh Food & Beverage Group, highlights the benefits:

“Tool-free cleaning is a huge advantage for us: it allows quick access and greatly simplifies operations — especially when it comes to hygienic product handling, meeting our high hygiene standards, and maintaining production throughput.”

He also praises the partnership with TRANSVER:

“Our collaboration with TRANSVER was solution-oriented and strongly focused on our needs. TRANSVER didn’t just deliver — they thought ahead.”
